Clusterbean (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba L. Taub.), commonly known as guar, has come to be recognized as one of the most important commercial crop of arid and semi-arid region. It is a drought hardy leguminous crop because of its deep tap rooting system and has high capacity to recover from water stress.
The guar or cluster bean, with the botanical name Cyamopsis tetragonoloba, is an annual legume and the source of guar gum. It is also known as gavar, gawar, or guvar bean.
